Garden Views

I have been thinning trees out since aquiring property. Got a friend with a tractor to take out the rotted stumps and brush. Some fill added to make leveling easier and now I have nearly doubled my bed space. Latest project is to get that area under installed irrigation. A work in progress.

Views around the garden a few weeks before peak blooms... I'll have to take one nearer peak bloom time.

A really nice near black, a profile view showing it nice edge further down. It holds well in full sun.

These are mostly from other years. I have incorporated them into my breeding efforts.

Profile of one at the beginning. Look at that edge, bud count is good too.

What a clear color. Skinny sepals though, maybe sepals will improve with maturity of plant...

This last one was probably my first wow seedling after I really got serious about hybridizing spring of 2004 once my recovery was far enough along that I could start working in the garden again. Ones like this helps me justify the year round work to get good seedling blooms annually.

Polypetal

I have had a few that bloom polypetal + often enough to be noted, but none do it much more than 50% of total blooms. I have added a normal bloom form of one so you can see difference.

Blue Eye zoned daylilies and such

Here are ones that in my opion are important in breeding a blue color eye zone in quest to ultimately expand the eye zone to whole face of daylily. In other words a blue daylily.

Since I like violet, blue and lavender colors this is where I orginally was concentrating my breeding, but the teethy edges are more cutting edge and blue has been a quest for many for years so lots of effort going into this area already.

Even More Teeth

I am diligently working to get some color shifts in toothy forms from my breeding. As you may note my best share a small color range. Other colors have shown more or less what I call serrated edge ( teethy lite) instead of the more dramatic bold teeth and edge. I'll get there if I just keep plugging away.
